This is a private reference site, not a Franklin County office. It cannot confirm custody, release anyone, post bond, schedule visits, or retrieve official booking records. Use the government office that holds the record for those actions.

Where to Start for a Franklin County Record

For current jail custody, use Franklin County Regional Jail first. For sheriff-created law-enforcement records, use Sheriff Dwayne Depp's office. For county open-records requests, Franklin County routes written requests through the Fiscal Court Clerk under the Kentucky Open Records Act, including KRS 61.870 and related exemptions in KRS 61.878.

Use the topic list below to match the request to the right page or agency path.

  • For someone held at the county jail, start with jail inmate records and the Franklin County Regional Jail phone line.
  • For booking photos, read the jail roster mugshots page before assuming a public photo is available online.
  • For charges and court dates after booking, use court records after a jail arrest and the Kentucky Court of Justice tools.
  • For a specific local custody site, use the Franklin County Regional Jail or Franklin Restricted Custody Center pages listed in the footer.
  • For a sentenced Kentucky prisoner or state-custody record, use Kentucky DOC KOOL and VINE rather than the county jail alone.
  • For federal custody or immigration detention, use the BOP inmate locator or ICE Online Detainee Locator System. Those systems are separate from Franklin County.
  • Do not use the Ready Frankfort app as an inmate search tool. It is a City of Frankfort service, tips, and open-records app, not a jail roster.
